Based on the idea of blood and the underlying common denominator of existence that blood implies. I tried to involve a sense of each individual being or creature being dependent and supported by their counterparts. The idea was to make a sense of the whole out of these individul parts. It includes both the so called 'beautiful side of existence and the 'brutal' side of it.
It's forged from 80 x 80 bright mild steel and it's 14 feet high and 16 feet wide. The base that is shown is only temporary and I would be wanting to make a semi circular concrete base which would double as a bench.

Based on an Anglo Saxon epic poem called Beowulf, during which the hero Beowulf rips off the arm of Grendel the monster, wherefore he is the victor, and yet upheld by the vanquished, without whom he would have no victory.

This sculpture is called Bronze because it is based around the idea of two very soft things making something very strong. I was looking at a baby asleep with a blanket wrapped round her and both shapes were very gentle but the combination of the two shapes produced a very strong form. Bronze is made out of tin and copper both of which are very soft but together they form one of the hardest metals. Approx. 400mm x 500mm x 200mm. Not for Sale.

Based on the sound of a Curlew more than its physicality; they sound like they are doing handstands in the marshes. Approx. 400mm x 400mm x 200mm. Not for Sale.
